Parts of the Bay Area have seen autumn in the winter, lots of leaves falling from trees, and fog. Not much rain yet, but the wettest month is usually February.
.
I saw this symmetrical pattern in Emeryville. My timing was perfect with this shot. Seconds later, a cold gust of wind surrounded me. When it had left, the leaves and the white lines and the shadows were gone.

One of the bridges of Bon Air in Marin. The floating object in the lower right is a giant beetle.

The morning ferry leaves the terminal in Larkspur, which is the hustling seaport of Marin County. This is the SS Entitlement. Somehow, the captain is able to navigate his way past San Quentin prison and sail the rough seas toward San Francisco.
.
This ferry is a catamaran design -twin hulls - which gives the ferry greater stability and reduces friction, which makes it faster. I recall somebody many years ago winning the America's Cup with a catamaran.

And now we have a Ferrari in the fog. I had walked into a store at Northgate in San Rafael, and when I walked out...this.
.
When the fog burned off, there was a Mercedes in Tiburon. Its appearance in the sunshine made sense. I would rather own the Ferrari, but you have to admit a Mercedes is the more practical choice in this age of economic austerity.
